Plastic bobbies hide behind a tree

Police Community Support OfficerThe Met, a reoccurring topic these days, has come under fire again, after it was investigating a claim from a member of the public walking in Ravensbury Park near Morden, London.

A woman told how two police community officers stood by while a 55 year old man was attacked by three teenage girls.

Nicknamed plastic bobbies for their lack of training, the PCSOs were only a few hundred yards away when the incident happened. But instead of taking action, the duo chose to hide behind a tree, according to a witness.

Once again this shows the ineptitude of this no brainer scheme.

It was only a few weeks ago since it being revealed that two PCSOs looked on while a boy of 10 drowned in a lake.

The support officers in that case claimed they were not adequately trained to rescue Jordon Lyon as he struggled for his life in Wigan in May.

This no brainer scheme was championed by Sir Ian Blair, so no suprises there.

Scotland Yard spent £3,311,164 of the taxpayers money on advertising and marketing for PCSO positions last year.

During that time it signed up 2,500 officers to work across the capital - a publicity cost of £1,324 each!

When will they learn? Plastic bobbies probably come a lot cheaper by the dozen than police constables but are proving ineffective against the rising crime in the UK.

The poor 55 year old man, pays for his streets to be policed…….by a policemen not a stand-in, under trained prat in a fluorescent jacket.

Jordan Lyon would have stood a chance at being here today, if there had been proper ‘policing’ in the area, again not by under trained, glow boys.

Its about time we woke up to the fact that it all comes down to misuse of taxpayer funding. We ask for and need more police to curb the rising crime figures. What do we get in return? Extra numbers, not anywhere near trained to the standards we require (and pay for), made up of people who want to play at policing.

At a time when all motorways are over conjested, we also have to put up with the ‘fluorenscent’ boys that stop traffic for any little prang bringing the UK to a stand still every ten minutes.

We pay for policemen to police, we pay for traffic policemen to police our motorways. Why don’t we get what we pay for and need?
